  • Good evening,
I am very keen to sign up to membership with you. I have been scything for a couple of years now and I would like to become more involved in scything things- even if I have an Austrian scythe rather than an English one- I hope this isn’t a sin!
What is on offer when becoming a member? Are there invitations/discounts to fairs, demos, competitions etc?

    Many thanks,

    • Sophia I notice you posted your message quite a while ago and didn’t get a response- did you sign up in the end? There’s info on joining and what you get for your membership. I’ve just joined myself. I’ve retired my very elderly English scythe earlier this week and am now using an Alpine scythe to try to get the hay cut between bouts of rain. It’s cutting fairly nicely but drying’s going to be a problem if the weather doesn’t turn.

  • How do,being the owner of 3 old blades and handles,in need of some care, and time, seeing your site, thought ,inside info and with that in mind, must join if that’s ok,need the g up to get me going.inbetween the garden and greenwood spooonmaking.thanks.

  • I would be interested in joining a local group if one exists. I have just acquired an Austrian scythe and feel some teaching may be needed!
